The Conference is expected to bring together 1500 participants from 170+ countries, half of them young people, aged 18 to 29, and 350 of them will come from marginalized backgrounds, making the summit one of the most well represented youth events at the global level. A minimum of three official youth delegates will be selected by the country coordinator of each country. In addition to this, 350 more young people belonging to under-represented groups will be selected by the International Country Coordinator. Furthermore, as many as 300 youth delegates who are Indian from 29 states will be selected.
The CONFERENCE will bring together youth aged 18 to 29 from the world over. However, there are opportunities for those over 29 years to attend the organization as civil society representatives, media personnel, academia and representatives of the corporate sector.
WYC 2016 will also bring representatives of Member States, including Ministers of Youth, UN officials, representatives of other international and regional organizations, academics, corporate leaders and other relevant stakeholders to New Delhi.
The Conference will commence on Saturday, 12th November 2016 until Monday, 14th November 2016. The participants are expected to arrive on Friday 11th November 2016 after 1200 Hrs and depart on Tuesday 15th November 2016.
The Conference agenda comprises of the following components:
  • Plenary sessions compose of introductory speeches and papers, regional views today, and personal views of youth based on the 17 agenda of SDGs;
  • Workshops are brainstorming sessions for participants. In this session, emphasis is made that there is no debate, no criticism, and no cross talk. Instead we call for suggestions and note them, all of them, and later prioritize the list of suggestions to come up with a long term based declaration. The "brainstorm" is very structured and focused and the participants must learn and practice the ground rules; Meetings and networking dinners;
  • Debates session will be only in the special session of preparation of “Youth Action Plan”.
  • Field trips and / or cultural tours.
