The winning applicant will provide the best 200-300 word essay on this year's essay topic which is: "What motivates you to want to work in the nursing industry?"</span><span style="box-sizing: unset; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 11.5pt;"><span style="box-sizing: unset; color: #263238; font-family: "Helvetica Neue", arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;"></span>. APPLICATION DEADLINE: November 1<br />ONLY current undergraduate or graduate students within the NACA Mid Atlantic & Mid America Regions are eligible to apply. <span style="color: red;">High school students are not eligible.</span><br /><br />The Tese Caldarelli Memorial Scholarship was established by the former NACA Great Lakes Region to provide financial assistance to undergraduate or graduate student leaders enrolled in colleges and universities in the NACA Mid Atlantic & Mid America regions.<br /><br />The scholarship is to be used for educational purposes, such as tuition, fees and books or for professional development purposes, such as conference fees. Scholarships are announced in late December/early January.<br /><br />DEADLINE<br />Materials must be submitted online by Nov. 1. Only the first 75 qualified applications will be considered.<br /><br />CRITERIA<br />Applicants for the Scholarships for Student Leaders Program must:<br /><br />- Be full-time, matriculated undergraduate or graduate student with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better at the time of the application and during the semester in which the award is received<br />- Demonstrate significant leadership skills and ability<br />- Hold a significant leadership position on campus<br />- Have made significant contributions via volunteer involvement, either on or off campus<br />- Be enrolled in a college or university within the NACA Mid Atlantic or Mid America Regions<br />- You must be a U.S. Citizen<br />- <span style="color: red;">High school students are not eligible.</span><br /><br />NACA membership or involvement is not a criterion for selection.</div>

The fellowship is part of the project "MICRO - Human Bodily Micromotion in Music Perception and Interaction" funded by the Research Council of Norway. The project will investigate how music influences what we might call "micromotion", the smallest controllable and perceivable human body motion. Central to the project is a series of observation studies and lab experiments on people's spontaneous motion to music. The project will also focus on the development of interactive music systems based on human micromotion. The appointed candidate will be granted full access to the world-class fourMs lab, with state-of-the-art motion capture systems and sound spatalisation facilities (<a href="http://fourms.uio.no/" style="color: #0b5a9d; text-decoration: none;">http://fourms.uio.no</a>). It is expected that the candidate will work on an independent sub-project and be supervised by Associate Professor Alexander Refsum Jensenius (<a href="http://people.uio.no/alexanje/" style="color: #0b5a9d; text-decoration: none;">http://people.uio.no/alexanje/</a>). A postdoctoral researcher will also be recruited to the project.<br />
The selected doctoral fellow will be required to participate in the researcher training program of the Faculty of Humanities and complete a PhD dissertation that is commensurate with the University of Oslo’s requirements for the degree (see the regulations for the Faculty of Humanities’ researcher training program). The doctoral fellow is expected to engage in designated research activities on a 100 percent basis, including active participation in the main project’s broader research activities. The primary aim of the fellowship is to complete a doctoral dissertation to be defended at a public defense for the PhD degree.<br />

<li>A master's degree in musicology, psychology, computer science, human movement science, or similarly related fields that offer a solid foundation for further research into the area of music-related body motion. <a href="http://www.newcastle.edu.au/research-and-innovation/centre/science-and-it/exercise-and-sport-science" style="color: #25589d;">The Exercise and Sport Science Research Group</a> at the University of Newcastle, Australia, in collaboration with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and La Trobe University, are pleased to offer a fully funded PhD scholarship for an outstanding student to study the biomechanical factors associated with patellar tendinopathy in basketball players. This University of Newcastle Research PhD scholarship is part of a research project supported by the <a href="https://ge2.brightidea.com/ct/d.bix?c=7D27E4BF-F482-4C71-B5BA-71C36AE86EE6" style="color: #25589d;">National Basketball Association and GE Healthcare</a>that will be conducted through the La Trobe Sport and Exercise Medicine Research Centre. Patellar tendinopathy is prevalent in young jumping athletes. The reason why some are severely compromised by patellar tendinopathy while others play with no pain despite substantial pathology and yet others have completely normal tendons is not understood. Extrinsic factors related to the loads placed on the tendon when playing may determine risk for tendon pathology and pain. This research project will investigate jump-landing biomechanics associated with patellar tendinopathy and the effect of fatigue in jump-landing biomechanics. This UON PhD Scholarship will be supervised by Dr Suzi Edwards (UON), Professor Darin Padua (UNC) and Dr Ebonie Rio (La Trobe). The successful candidate will be based at The University of Newcastle (Ourimbah campus, 1 hour north of Sydney, Australia) fulltime as part of the multi-disciplinary team.</div>

Patellar tendinopathy is prevalent in young jumping athletes. The reason why some are severely compromised by patellar tendinopathy while others play with no pain despite substantial pathology and yet others have completely normal tendons is not understood. Extrinsic factors related to the loads placed on the tendon when playing may determine risk for tendon pathology and pain. This research project will investigate jump-landing biomechanics associated with patellar tendinopathy and the effect of fatigue in jump-landing biomechanics. This UON PhD Scholarship will be supervised by Dr Suzi Edwards (UON), Professor Darin Padua (UNC) and Dr Ebonie Rio (La Trobe). A key consideration in our selection of Henley's Flexible Executive MBA Scholarship awards will therefore be the degree to which we believe the candidate will make a significant contribution to the quality of the Henley MBA programme.<br />Criteria <br /><br />Candidates must hold an unconditional offer for the September 2016 intake of the Flexible Executive MBA programme. We are looking for exceptional candidates who will add considerable value to the programme based on an outstanding academic or professional background. <br /><br />Scholarships are awarded by an academic panel of Henley Business School whose decision is final and not open to discussion or appeal by applicants.<br />Finance <br /><br />Several awards are available, typically up to 25% of the programme fees.<br /><br />Scholarships cannot be transferred to another intake if a student chooses to defer their entry.<br />Duration <br /><br />30 months<br />Closing date <br /><br />Applicants will need to hold a full unconditional offer of a place on the Henley Flexible Executive MBA in order to be considered for a scholarship. In addition, a limited number of bursaries are made available to students from specific target categories who will bring diversity to the MBA programme at Henley.<br />Criteria <br /><br />Candidates must hold an unconditional offer for the September 2016 intake of the Flexible Executive MBA programme. Applicants may apply based on one of the following categories:<br />Applicants who bring knowledge and experience regarding international business and management, in particular in emergent markets and/or in culturally diverse settings.<br />Applicants employed by an organisation within the non-profit/voluntary sector that makes a contribution to improve the personal or social experiences of communities or individuals.<br />Applicants who currently work in small- to medium-sized organisations or head their own organisation.<br />Applicants from any industry or background who are able to demonstrate highly valuable business or individual experience which would contribute to team learning.<br /><br />Bursary applications are considered by a faculty panel at Henley Business School whose decision is final and not open to discussion or appeal by applicants. Candidates who are awarded a bursary will be notified by email; those who have not been awarded a bursary will not be notified.<br />Finance <br /><br />A number of awards are available between 15% and 50% of the programme fees for September 2016 and are decided based on both the strength of the applicant and their individual circumstances. The winner will be expected to formally apply for the programme within two weeks of being notified of their award. Up to ten finalists will be shortlisted and the winner will be decided by a panel of judges whose decision is final and not open to discussion or appeal by applicants.<br />Finance <br /><br />1 x 100% award on the Executive or Flexible Executive MBA. <li style="border: 0px; font-family: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit; line-height: 1.2em; margin: 0.5em 0px 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">Evaluation of an essay of 1,000 - 1,500 words written by the student.</li>

The scheme was established in 2002, as part of the CSC’s and DFID’s commitment to exploring new methods of scholarship delivery. To date, nearly 1,000 Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships have been awarded.</div>
