Financial support for living costs and tuition fees enables research students to focus on their research. The University of Tasmania offers a variety of living allowance scholarships and travel scholarships for selected international research students.
Scholarships are considered throughout the year on an individual merit basis. Applications for scholarships can therefore be made at any time. Apply here.
If unsuccessful, an application for scholarship may result in an offer of candidature only. International candidates have six months to accept or decline this offer.
International candidates who accept a candidature only offer must confirm they are able to cover all expenses of PhD study in Tasmania (including living expenses, tuition fees and Overseas Student Health Cover). You may need to provide evidence of financial capacity when you apply for a student visa.
If encouraged by their School to apply, current candidates are welcome to submit a scholarship application at a later stage in their candidature.
Further information on the type of scholarships and entry requirements is provided below.
